| Reading Teacher of the Year "ED"ies Award READING TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD NOMINATION “ED”ies Awardee Application Granite State Reading Council, the state council for the International Reading Association, is seeking nominations for the 2010 Reading Teacher of the Year that will be awarded at the “ED”ies Celebration in June, 2010. Any member of the Granite State Reading Council (GSRC) may be nominated. If a nominee is not yet a member of GSRC, they may apply at any time. | 2010 Literacy Project Grant The Literacy Project Grant to be awarded this year will be to an individual or a group that promotes literacy and proposes a project that enhances, expands, or examines an area of literacy in a new way. A grant will be awarded for $500 to be spent by the recipient to implement a project impacting literacy skills. It may involve students, adults, and the community. Grant applicants must be current members of Granite State Reading Council. The recipient of grant funding is required to share the results of the implemented project. This may take the form of a workshop or a detailed article for the GSRC newsletter. Deadline: April 1, 2010 Click here for application |

| Granite State Council of the International Reading Association 2010 Literacy Award Nomination The Awards and Grants Committee of the GSRC is seeking nominations for the 2010 Literacy Award. This award is created to honor an individual or a group of people that promote and support literacy among children and adults in some extraordinary way in the state of New Hampshire. Anyone who has had a special impact on literacy in NH can be considered. Potential applicants may be: reading specialists, reading teachers, literacy coaches, literacy teams, classroom teachers, administrators, librarians, authors, organizations that promote and support literacy, etc… Deadline: April 1, 2010 Click for application |

| The International Reading Association's Exemplary Reading Program Award The Exemplary Reading Program Award recognizes outstanding reading and language arts programs at all grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school). Its purpose is to call the public’s attention to outstanding programs in schools throughout Canada and the United States. Each participating state and province can choose one winning school a year. All public, private, and parochial schools in the United States and Canada are eligible for the award, provided
Applications must be postmarked no later than November 15 and received at IRA Headquarters no later than November 22. Headquarters will then forward applications to the state/provincial Exemplary Reading Program Award Committees for review. |
